FIRST GRADE MUSIC

This year we have been working on elements of music such as beat, rhythm, timbre, and pitch.  The elements of expression include loud/quiet, fast/slow, smooth/separated, hi/low.  We can listen to music and sing songs and talk about the places they are from and how they make us feel.   Some of their favorite music games/songs include Queen, Queen Caroline, Grand Old Duke, My Pumpkin, Freeze Dance and Lemonade. They are also becoming experts at reading rhythms which include quarter notes, quarter rests and eighth notes.  What fun it was to hear them performing Rise Up and The Very First Christmas Morn at their concert.
