SECOND GRADE MUSIC

January 2024 Update

Second grade is a big year for music learning.  Students can recognize and clap a wide variety of note values.  They are learning to accompany themselves on the xylophones and rhythm instruments as in their song Bethlehem Night.  Singing in two parts is a new skill that we are working on and their first performance of this was in We’re Going on a Sleighride.  They have learned many Italian words for Dynamics (loud/quiet) and have enjoyed many games and songs this year including Tony Chestnut, The Chef, Pass the Broom, Pumpkin Fat, and I’m the Fastest Turkey.
